The Purpose of this position is to install, maintain and remove a wide variety of industrial machinery and equipment.
Install, maintain, troubleshoot, repair, and perform periodic maintenance on the following machinery: synchronous belts, v-belts, sheaves, roller chains, sprockets, conveyor systems, motors and gearboxes, loaders, several types of pumps, extruders, compressed air systems, blenders, hoists, and equipment associated with plastic extrusion.
Operate the following: An oxy-acetylene torch, arc and mig welders, tig welders (a plus), drill press, pipe threading machines, forklifts, scissor lifts, precision measuring devices such as dial indicators, digital and dial calipers, telescopic gages, electrical test equipment etc.
Align various types of equipment such as motors, gearboxes, couplings and pulleys using both the magnetic dial indicator method and the straight-edge method.
Mentor Tech I staff as needed.
Advanced knowledge of troubleshooting techniques.
Other Job Functions:
Assume on-call status.
Adhere to proper safety and housekeeping guidelines.
Perform other dutis as assigned.
Five (5) years’ experience in an industrial maintenance environment with a preventive maintenance background.
High School Diploma or GED.
Able to perform basic multiplication, division, addition, subtraction, plus possess knowledge of metric to standard conversions and fraction to decimal conversions.
Has a working knowledge of: An oxy-acetylene welding and cutting, SMAW, GMAW, and GTAW welding, drill press, pipe threading machines, forklifts, scissor lifts, precision measuring devices such as dial indicators, digital and dial calipers, telescopic gages, etc.
Ability to frequently lift up to 70lbs.
Must be able to work in temperatures exceeding 95 degrees, climb stairs and work at heights exceeding 20’
